About Us

Founded in 1901, the Kanara Catholic Association (KCA), Mumbai is the premier community organization of the Mangalorean Catholic community of Mumbai.  With approximately 800 members on its rolls, the KCA has a rich legacy of service to the community & society at large.

Explore the About Us section further to understand the Aims & Objectives of the Institution, its long & proud History, how the organization is Managed today and how you can become a Member.  In other sections of the Website, read about the KCA's Community Services and Member Activities.  We hope that through this website you will understand what this wonderfully unique organization is all about!

Originally set up as a Society under the Societies Registration Act 1860,  the KCA is also a Public Trust registered under the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950 (Registration No F-510; the Registration certificate can be downloaded at the bottom of this page).  Due to the primarily charitable nature of its activities, the KCA is also registered under section 12A of the Indian Income Tax Act, 1961 (extract from the Income Tax website can also be downloaded below) with a tax-exempt status.

With 'Vis Unita Fortior' (with Unity – Forever Forward) as it's appropriate motto, the KCA today is a vibrant community of members, working together in a spirit of union & friendship striving to take the institution to greater heights, and building on the legacy of the many personalities who have shaped the organization's destiny over the past 115 years of its existence.
