About the KCA Hostel

The Hostel for Young Men, aptly named 'Yuvakalaya', was opened in 1969, to provide a 'home away from home' young men coming to the city of Mumbai in search of jobs & higher studies.

Thanks to generous donations from many KCA members, and after 8 years of sweat & toil to get the hostel up & running, it was inaugurated by the then Governor of Maharashtra and blessed by the then Archbishop of Bombay.

For the past 47 years, deserving young men, irrespective of caste, creed or community, from all over India have found accommodation for themselves at highly subsidized rates.  The hostel today houses 35 young men, and has a long waiting list given the amenities, mess facilities & reasonable rates.

The hostel is indeed a testament to the spirit of generosity & service to others, that has been the hallmark of the KCA and it's members for the past 115 years!
