Kanara Kafe

Kanara Catholic Association, Mumbai intends starting at their administrative building - Yuvakalaya, at Bandra ( West ), a Restaurant to cater to the hostel inmates, KCA members and others, with mostly authentic Kanara Cuisine. 

The selected contractor will have to refurbish the existing mess room and two kitchens, furnish the same and obtain all the Municipal certificates in name of KCA at their own costs. 

Caterers with requisite experience in providing such service could contact KCA Hon. Secretary, mobile no. 9821484282, within next 7 days to obtain further details and the terms and conditions.

Christmas Cheer 2018

Christmas is forever, not just for one day, for loving, sharing, giving, and not to put away like bells and lights and tinsel, in some box upon a shelf. The good you do for others is good you do yourself. May this Christmas end the present year on a cheerful note and make way for a fresh and bright New Year.

The KCA Cultural & Recreation Team is putting together a one-of-a-kind programme, to bring to our members, their families an evening of fun and fellowship: of Christmas joy and cheer, of peace and goodwill to all in our community, to foster and celebrate the spirit of Christmas.

Passes for Christmas Cheer will be available at the KCA Administrative Office from November 24, 2018 to December 7, 2018.

Bookings can be made by calling the KCA Administrative Office at 2642 1037 / 2643 1584 or by sending an e-mail to member.relations@kcamumbai.org.  Payments for Passes can also be made by Mobile Wallet (PayTM and FreeCharge) to the KCA Mobile Number 98694 58632.

Please note the cost of Passes will cover snacks and soft drinks.  For those of you staying on for dinner, a variety of cuisine will be available for purchase at an additional cost; drinks will also be served and available at cost at the venue.

Monti Fest 2018

In keeping with the tradition of the last 2 years, KCA Mumbai’s celebration of the Monti Fest will be held on Sunday, September 30, 2018. We once again invite you to attend the celebration of our cultural roots & traditions 

This year, the elections for the KCA office bearers will also be held, so we hope to see you attend the AGM and the Monti Fest celebration in large numbers. Based on the feedback from some members, and since the elections are being held, we will not have a Monti Fest Mass at the KCA this year - as it was felt that the program would be too rushed.

A prayer service, followed by the blessing of the harvest and a procession to the KCA grotto will be held. The traditional celebration & lunch will be on the same lines as the last 2 years. Members are encouraged to attend Mass at Mount Mary’s church, before the program. Thereafter, we will assemble at the KCA for the MONTHI SAIBINISHI FEST and KCA AGM. Eligible members can cast their vote from 10.00 am – 12.30 pm.

Having a socially and culturally active Association, as well as having more members take an active interest in the affairs of the institution - both objectives are met by having the AGM and Monti Fest celebration on the same day. We hope to see you in large numbers and we are sure that once again, it will be a rewar   ding day for the entire family.

The Programme: 

9:00 AM: Assemble at the Ground Floor Hall of KCA.

9:30 AM: Prayer Service and Konkani Hymns, during which new paddy and sugarcane will be blessed for distribution to Members, their families, and friends.

10:00 AM: Elections for KCA office bearers - commencement of Voting
                    Tea & light refreshments will be served

11:00 AM: The voting Members will remain in the Ground Floor Hall for the AGM. The rest of their family and guests will proceed to the First Floor Hall for games and cultural activities both in English and Konkani, and enjoy traditional Konkani Melodies.

12:30 PM: Elections – closing of voting.

1:00 PM: Announcement of Election Results.

1:30 PM: Enjoy specially prepared Buffet lunch by AL-RON caterers with 7 different Mangalorean vegetable dishes, a fish coconut curry for those who want some variety, and the traditional sweet dish 'Worne' and other savouries

AGM & Elections on September 30, 2018

Update:

The 87th Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) of the Members of the Kanara Catholic Association, which was held on September 30, 2018, was attended by 117 Members.

The Draft Minutes of Meeting (MoM) of the Annual General Body Meeting is available for download at the bottom of this post.

The Final MoM will be adopted at the next General Body of the Members of the Kanara Catholic Association.  The Minutes will be circulated to all those Members, who attended the Meeting for their information and concurrence.  Objections or changes from Members should reach the Administrative Office of KCA, Mumbai, within two weeks of receipt of the Draft Minutes.

The Minutes are being made available on this website to all Members of the Association for their information.

We welcome the following New Life Members and Ordinary Members to KCA, Mumbai!

Their Application Forms were scrutinized and approved at a Meeting of the Balloting Committee on June 16, 2018.  The decision of the Balloting Committee was then ratified at the Meeting of the Managing Council on June 30, 2018.




'Raindrops' Monsoon Social 2018

Update:

The Raindrops Monsoon Social held on July 7, 2018, was a joyous & fun-filled evening helmed by Lancy from the Cultural & Recreation team and the musical couple - Michael & Sunita.  It also marked the launch of the KCA Counselling Centre.

The 'Raindrops' Monsoon Social will be held at 7:00 PM on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at the premises of KCA, Mumbai.
An evening to liven the spirit of monsoon, an opportunity to leisurely interact, dress in your best casual rainwear, and 'pitter-patter' to the beat of raindrops with live music, food, and entertainment.  Let the rains not dampen your spirit, bid adieu to your evening blues, invite your family and friends, and make a splash this monsoon with a happening get-together at KCA, Mumbai.

Annual Thanksgiving Mass and Dinner 2018

Event Announcement:

The traditional Annual Thanksgiving Mass and Dinner will be held at 6:00 PM on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at the Ground Floor Hall, at the premises of KCA, Mumbai.


The Annual Thanksgiving Mass and Dinner is a time for remembrance and thanksgiving, an opportunity for our community to come together in fellowship, celebrate progress, and partake in constructive collaboration in taking forward this wonderful 117 year old community institution.

The programme for the Annual Thanksgiving Mass and Dinner is as follows:

KCA Life Membership Open!

The Managing Council is happy to announce that KCA Membership is currently open for the following categories:

 

Concessional Fee of Rs. 500 per annum (applicable to children of Life Members between 18-25 years)

The Membership Application Forms may be downloaded at the bottom of this page.  Filled-in Application Forms may be handed over the KCA Administrative Office in Bandra.  Applications will be accepted up to May 31, 2018.

Note:  Ordinary members of the KCA have an option to upgrade to Life/Donor Membership by paying the requisite fee.  

Letters have been dispatched to ordinary members intimating them about this option.
